What would be the most fair political platform?
Q. What political platform would you endorse, which met the condition of fairness that no claim of bias could be made by any citizen either for or against any person (foreign or national)? The popular standard of fairness in government and politics established on a political platform for the "Fair party." Please explain how your ideal platform meets the requirements of fairness, as defined in this question. Mr. yoda, you said socially liberal, but consider how socialism is fair to the successfully and productive and how abortion is fair to the unborn. To those who are skeptics concerning the realism of fairness in politics, I encourage you to check out the FairTax (HR25/SR25). The toll road (owned by the government) is another fair… [cont.]

Why is the pulpit most often used as a political platform?
Q. Whether a minister is liberal or conservative, I have rarely been to a church service where a political message didn't dominate the sermon. I just go to church to meet divorced moms, so I don't appreciate being indoctrinated with their democratic or republican hogwash.

A. Ah, you are speaking of American churches. In 30 years of going to British churches I can count on two hands the number of political messages I've heard, but none of them suggested any one political party was better than another! Mind you, anybody familiar with God's preachers in the Old Testament would admit that they preached totally political sermons. Just read Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum and Zephaniah. And Jesus was revolutionary in His political statements! He was in danger of being lumped with the Zealots, such was His concern for the political issues of the day, especially as they related to poor people. It is just as Dom Helder Camara said, "When I give food to the poor they… [cont.]

What was President William Jefferson Clinton's political platform in seeking the White House?
Q. What were some of positive and some negative accomplishments of his political career.
Asked by Joanna J - Sat May 12 16:40:17 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Now for something that answers the question without the political bias... Clinton's platform was a refocused effort on the economy, which had not been doing well in returning to a peacetime economy after the first Gulf War. He had pretty basic Democratic stances: pro-choice, demand-side economic policies and fairly moderate views overall on other issues. He was a southerner and appealed to many in the South, and he brought back many "Reagan Democrats" to the party. Positives: Family and Medical Leave Act for pregnant women/new mothers/fathers, Brady Bill, NAFTA, GATT, welfare reform, raised taxes on top 1.5% wealthiest people and cut taxes for 15 million poor people and 90% of small businesses, generally good economy, Oslo agreements… [cont.]

Why is the issue of child abuse not included in any political platform?
Q. At least, I've sure never seen or heard any statements from the major parties about what they would do to reduce this problem, and I think I've only ever heard one candidate address it (Gov. Phil Bredesen of Tennessee). Do they not care that much about this problem, or do they just calculate that the voters don't really care that much? While I wouldn't expect it to be the centerpiece of a campaign, you'd think somebody out there would want to "declare war" on child abuse like has been done on drugs, poverty, etc.
Asked by blwpyrtv - Fri Oct 26 00:35:45 2007 - - 9 Answers - 0 Comments

A. If I were running for President(and I'm thinking about getting in), child abuse would be one of my major platform issues. I still am having a hard time understanding why states like Vermont, refuse to have mandatory minimums for child predators. I have yet to hear an argument that made any sense for letting these animals out of jail after serving only months instead of years. Child rapists CANNOT be rehabilitated. We need to lock these low lives up in solitary for the rest of their miserable existence.

Should this site be used as a political platform?
Q. Recently, we have had McCain, Hillary, and now Obama. I don't like it! I am more than a firm believer that practically all elected people in Congress are the most dishonest and disingenuois people that we have in this country. They stir the pot with inuendoes and are nothing more than troublemakers. The community (?) stated that they don't endorse political candidates. That's good. I just wish (I don't believe in wishing) that they would not allow politicians on this site.

A. 1. My opponents which are the Democrats, they have some strange ideas about raising taxes. To them, raising taxes, and Joe Biden said it, raising taxes is about patriotism. To the rest of America, that's not patriotism. Raising taxes is about killing jobs and hurting small businesses and making things worse. This isn't about anyone's patriotism, it's about Barack Obama's poor judgement. The wealthy should not get higher taxes just because they make good money, their hard working money or anyone that works hard should not get their money away. So basically Low taxes are the way to go. 2.
